Between innings of the July 4 Chesapeake Baysox game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels there was a bubble-bump competition, a violin rendition of God Bless America played by an on-duty cop, and a game in which kids armed with pool noodles beat a guy in a bug costume. After the game, fireworks. (Baysox lost, 1-6, after twice stranding runners with bases loaded. Grrr.) How did you celebrate Independence Day?
