CDC Director Susan Monarez is ousted as senior leaders exit agency
WASHINGTON — Susan Monarez, the first Senate-confirmed director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has been ousted after just a month on the job — part of a series of high-ranking exits at the CDC. The Trump administration confirmed her departure but provided no explanation.
At least three other senior leaders resigned, according to notes they sent to staff:
Daniel Payne, Chelsea Cirruzzo, and Elizabeth Cooney
