The vaccine has been available under an emergency use authorization.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA missed an April 1 deadline to rule on Novavax\u2019s application. It was reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/04\/27\/fda-covid-vaccine-approval-process-novavax-pfizer-moderna\/\">political appointees in Commissioner Marty Makary\u2019s office overrode career staff<\/a>, who recommended issuing the license.
