STAT+: National Resilience, startup hoping to reinvent drug manufacturing, to \u2018wind down\u2019 many of its facilities

National Resilience, a startup that has raised over $2 billion by promising to transform drug manufacturing, said Monday that it would \u201cwind down\u201d many of its facilities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

But what remains of the firm has raised an additional $250 million from existing investors to continue to build its business and seek more capital.<\/p>\n

Through a bit of financial engineering, an affiliate of the firm that holds leases for six of the company\u2019s manufacturing facilities is filing for bankruptcy. National Resilience itself is not filing for bankruptcy, a spokesperson said, and will continue operating facilities in Toronto and Ohio, where it manufactures GLP-1 drugs for Eli Lilly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
