They were also informed the June meeting of the agency\u2019s expert vaccine panel, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, will be shorter than anticipated because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/06\/11\/rfk-jr-names-new-acip-members-replaces-cdc-vaccine-experts-he-just-fired\/\">eight new members of the committee<\/a> \u2014 17 previous members <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/06\/09\/rfk-jr-fires-every-member-of-cdc-vaccine-expert-panel-acip\/\">were fired last week<\/a> by health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. \u2014 are not yet in a position to deal with all the agenda items.<\/p>\n<p>There were no audible outbursts from staff during the tightly scripted hour-long meeting, which STAT listened to. But an email sent to agency personnel on Monday from CDC\u2019s Office of Safety, Security, and Asset Management suggested there may have been fears the meeting could have been tense. \u201cIn advance of tomorrow\u2019s CDC All-Staff meeting, we wanted to provide staff with the following reminders,\u201d it began. Among the reminders was a list of items staff may not bring on CDC campuses that included firearms, mace or pepper sprays, or bladed tools.
