My colleagues got exclusive comments from a senior FDA official \u2014 read on for what the official\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-need-to-know-this-morning\">The need-to-know this morning<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n<strong>Roche<\/strong> is following its partner <strong>Sarepta Therapeutics<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/07\/23\/roche-sarepta-gene-therapy-elevidys-duchenne-safety\/\" rel=\"noopener\">stopping shipments<\/a> of the Duchenne muscular dystrophy gene therapy Elevidys in some countries, amid rising safety concerns surrounding the treatment.<\/li>\n<li>An experimental oral treatment from <strong>Abivax<\/strong> helped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/07\/23\/abivax-obefazimod-ulcerative-colitis-trials\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ease symptoms at compelling rates<\/a> in patients with a type of bowel disease in a pair of Phase 3 trials.
