As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has advocated for the removal of fluoride<\/a> from water, he has framed it as an issue of medical freedom.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shouldn\u2019t be demanding that parents accept something for their children and in their homes that is essentially a medication. They can go to the drugstore and they can get toothpaste, if you want to apply it in your home you can,\u201d the nation\u2019s health secretary said<\/a> at a press conference in April following Utah\u2019s announcement that it would be the first state to institute a ban<\/a> on fluoridated water. \u201cI think it\u2019s a moral imperative that we all believe in freedom of choice in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n
