I do more -omics and growth curves and molecular techniques, but I want to move away from biology.<\/p>\n<p>I believe the bridge that can help me do that is data. I have got experience with R and excel. I&#8217;m looking at learning SQL and PowerBI.<\/p>\n<p>But I want to do it away from biology. The problem is, if I was to go from the UK, as a PhD microbiologist, and approach GCC consulting\/business analyst recruiters, I get the sense that they&#8217;d scoff at me for thinking too highly of my &#8220;transferrable skills&#8221; and tell me that I don&#8217;t have experience in the world of business.<\/p>\n<p>How would I get myself job-ready for GCC business-focused data science roles.
