MIT President Sally Kornbluth<\/a>\u00a0responded in a statement Wednesday to\u00a0a Globe report<\/a>\u00a0detailing her time as an administrator at Duke\u00a0amid a cancer research scandal<\/a>\u00a0more than a decade ago, saying she learned lessons from the case that \u201chave powerfully shaped my approach to leadership ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n Kornbluth said she described the case to MIT\u2019s search committee before she was selected as the institute\u2019s new president in 2022.<\/p>\n The Globe\u2019s story, which published online Wednesday morning, said Kornbluth was the dean overseeing clinical research at Duke Medical School when researchers raised concerns about the work of Dr. Anil Potti, who claimed to have created algorithms that could analyze tumors and pick the best chemotherapy cocktail to treat cancer patients.<\/p>\n Continue to STAT+ to read the full story\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
