WASHINGTON \u2014\u00a0Federal health officials are planning to add more members to a key panel of vaccine advisers handpicked by health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ahead of a meeting next week<\/a>, a former government official with knowledge of the situation confirmed to STAT.<\/p>\n The apparent new candidates include a pharmacist who has focused on low-income medication distribution, an infectious disease expert who opposed Covid-19 mandates, and a physician who has called for mRNA shots to be pulled off the market. If they are appointed to the panel, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, they would bring its ranks to at least 13 members.
