Today, we talk about the big regulatory changes afoot in Europe, how telehealth upended the drug market, and more.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-need-to-know-this-morning-nbsp\">The need-to-know this morning\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n<strong>Stoke Therapeutics<\/strong> appointed\u00a0Ian Smith as its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20251006657082\/en\/Stoke-Therapeutics-Appoints-Ian-F.-Smith-as-Chief-Executive-Officer\" rel=\"noopener\">permanent CEO<\/a>. He had been interim CEO since March.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Invivyd<\/strong> reached an agreement with the FDA to conduct <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.invivyd.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/invivyd-announces-us-ind-clearance-and-alignment-us-fda-pivotal\" rel=\"noopener\">two clinical trials<\/a> of its antibody treatment for the prevention of Covid-19 infection to support a potential approval. The studies will start before the end of the year and will report top-line results in the middle of 2026.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>AstraZeneca<\/strong> and <strong>Daiichi Sankyo<\/strong> said their antibody-drug conjugate Datroway <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astrazeneca.com\/media-centre\/press-releases\/2025\/datroway-improved-os-and-pfs-in-tropion-breast02.html\" rel=\"noopener\">prolonged survival<\/a> in patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer for whom immunotherapy was not an option.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Abivax<\/strong> presented <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.abivax.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/abivax-announces-late-breaking-presentation-8-week-abtect\" rel=\"noopener\">additional results<\/a> from a study of its experimental drug, called obefazimod, for ulcerative colitis.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-europe-nears-sweeping-pharma-policy-overhaul\">Europe nears sweeping pharma policy overhaul<\/h2>\n<p>European officials are racing to finalize a landmark overhaul of the E.U.\u2019s pharmaceutical policies \u2014 the biggest in decades.
