More than 420 anti-science bills attacking longstanding public health protections \u2014\u00a0vaccines<\/a>, milk safety and\u00a0fluoride<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 have been introduced in statehouses across the U.S. this year, part of\u00a0an organized, politically savvy campaign<\/a>\u00a0to enshrine a conspiracy theory-driven agenda into law.<\/p>\n

An\u00a0Associated Press investigation<\/a>\u00a0found that the\u00a0wave of legislation<\/a>\u00a0has cropped up in most states, pushed by people with close ties to Health and Human Services Secretary\u00a0Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>\u00a0The effort would strip away protections that have been built over a century and are integral to American lives and society. Around 30 bills have been enacted or adopted in 12 states.<\/p>\n
