Register <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/event\/moderna-virtual-event-nov2025\/\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-need-to-know-this-morning\">The need-to-know this morning<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n<strong>Biohaven Pharmaceuticals<\/strong> said its drug for spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), a rare and debilitating neurodegenerative disease, <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.biohaven.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/fda-issues-complete-response-letter-biohavens-vyglxia\" rel=\"noopener\">was rejected by the FDA<\/a>. The protracted review of the drug, called troriluzole, was controversial because Biohaven relied on historical data to demonstrate proof of efficacy. The FDA, in its letter to Biohaven, cited biases and confounding factors in those historical data as reasons for not approving the drug.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>After 12 years leading Utah-based \u201ctechbio\u201d company <strong>Recursion<\/strong>, CEO Chris Gibson is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/11\/05\/recursion-ceo-chris-gibson-out-najat-khan-new-head\/\" rel=\"noopener\">stepping down<\/a>.
