WASHINGTON \u2014 The Trump administration\u2019s deal to expand access to and lower the cost of weight loss drugs<\/a> has left industry leaders, public health experts, and patients with a host of open questions.<\/p>\n

The administration\u2019s agreements with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk center on their much-hyped GLP-1 offerings<\/a>, which officials said would now be available to more Americans \u2014 at prices that would ultimately save the government money.<\/p>\n

But the details of the deal \u2014 including the policy underpinnings, economic implications, and public health outcomes \u2014 are likely to determine whether the bold claims from the president become a reality.<\/p>\n
