Also, a KFF poll shows 1 in 8 Americans have used a GLP-1 by now, Kura wins FDA approval for its AML drug, and more.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-need-to-know-this-morning\">The need-to-know this morning<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Belgian drugmaker <strong>Lundbeck<\/strong> made an <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.avadel.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/avadel-receives-unsolicited-proposal-lundbeck\" rel=\"noopener\">unsolicited, $23-per-share offer<\/a> for <strong>Avadel Pharmaceuticals<\/strong>. The new bid tops the $20-per-share acquisition offer made by <strong>Alkermes <\/strong>last month. Alkermes said it is <a href=\"https:\/\/investor.alkermes.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/alkermes-response-avadel-announcement\" rel=\"noopener\">considering its options<\/a> for Avadel in light of the higher Lundbeck offer.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Anavex Life Sciences<\/strong> said advisers to the European Medicines Agency issued a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anavex.com\/post\/anavex-life-sciences-provides-regulatory-update-on-blarcamesine-for-early-alzheimer-s-disease\" rel=\"noopener\">negative trend vote<\/a>\u201d on blarcamesine, the company\u2019s treatment for Alzheimer\u2019s disease. A formal recommendation against the drug\u2019s approval was expected in December, after which Anavex will request a re-examination.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A closely watched next-generation blood thinner being developed by Bristol Myers Squibb and Johnson &amp; Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/11\/14\/milvexian-bristol-myers-johnson-and-johnson\/\" rel=\"noopener\">failed<\/a> in one of three late-stage trials.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pharma-can-t-stop-buying-biotechs\">Pharma can\u2019t stop buying biotechs<\/h2>\n<p>The deals keeps coming.
