The results achieved the primary goal of the pivotal clinical trial and will support a marketing submission to the FDA next year.<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Argenx<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/argenx.com\/news\/2025\/press-release-3205093\" rel=\"noopener\">discontinued a Phase 3 study<\/a> of Vyvgart Hytrulo in thyroid eye disease after independent data monitors conducted an interim analysis and concluded the drug would not achieve the study\u2019s primary goal.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A drug developed by <strong>Immunome<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.immunome.com\/immunome-announces-positive-topline-results-from-phase-3-ringside-trial-of-varegacestat-in-patients-with-desmoid-tumors\/\" rel=\"noopener\">reduced<\/a> the risk of disease worsening or death by 84% compared to placebo in patients with advanced desmoid tumors. The results achieved the primary goal of the Phase 3 study. Immunome plans to seek FDA approval next year.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Milestone Pharmaceuticals<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.milestonepharma.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/milestone-receives-fda-approval-cardamysttm-etripamil-first-and\" rel=\"noopener\">won FDA approval<\/a> for a new nasal-spray medicine to treat episodes of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, a a common type of abnormal heart rhythm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-brain-targeted-gene-therapy-s-sobering-reckoning\">Brain-targeted gene therapy\u2019s sobering reckoning<\/h2>\n<p>A long-anticipated breakthrough in gene therapy for brain diseases has been jolted by tragedy after the first patient dosed with a new, brain-penetrating virus \u2014 developed by Capsida Biotherapeutics \u2014 died days later from cerebral edema.
